Has anyone read his works? I understand he has been compared to Melville; I recall hearing a story of his landing at JFK with a large trunk. When asked what was inside by customs he said 'I don't know, let's have a look' and the only things was a football boot and a copy of Moby Dick. Don't know if it's true but still a neat story.
