Follow on from LeakedIn, Last.FM and eHarmony password leaks the author of MD5Crypt is saying that that is was grant for 1995 but with the power of GPUs today everyone should change to something stronger and not all the same think.

While I'm a bit knee-jerk in this respect, I assume a hash algorithm
is no longer secure once we've found a collision. Given the
probabilities at work, that just shouldn't happen (in our lifetimes)
if a hash algorithm is constructed correctly.
