Dear Safe Routes Supporters,

 

Come rain or shine, let’s walk, bike and roll to School! Join Safe Routes to School and REI for an informative workshop to walking and biking to school in Portland’s diverse weather. The workshop will speak to the various challenges to walking and biking to school in the winter season. We will specifically talk on finding the time in the morning, keeping children clean and dry, and the best way to ride in the rain. In addition, special guest Janet Schmidt (Alameda Elementary School parent) will share her experience on biking with her children to school every day. Walking and biking to school resources will be provided. Don’t let the weather stop you from taking an active commute to school

 

Date/Time: December 10th (Thursday), 10:30am-11:30am

Location: Sellwood-Moreland Library branch (7860 SE 13^th Ave, Portland OR 97202)

 

Coffee, pastries and fruit will be provided.

 

In addition to the training and snacks, we will have resources available for organizing walking and biking activities at your school. In addition, one lucky participant will win a fantastic raffle package—“Family Day at the Portland Zoo" package, including TriMet transit tickets and a couple of REI BUFFS to keep you warm while you walk and bike.
