I just noticed that I wrote the wrong date in the subject line of the original announcement. I am sure that is the reason why only 23 of you have signed up for this event :)

Please come out and support our Club and sign up early. For of those of you have invested in printed magnetic car # signs, please remember that if you sign up early you get your car # of choice.

The Intermountain Porsche Club of America (IRPCA) would like to cordially invite you and your track friends to a High Performance Drivers Education (DE) and Time Trial event.

When: July 11th, 2009
Time:  All day event starting at 7:30 AM (registration and 'Top Tech' starts at 7:15 AM)
Location: Miller Motorsports Park (MMP), Tooele UT
Track: West Track
Cost: $195

Driver's Education is designed to improve your driving skills and learn techniques at speed.  There is no experience necessary and skills learned will make you a better driver. The West track is 2.2 miles long, has 10 turns and is an absolute blast to drive. MMP is a terrific facility with all the track amenities you can think of, with paved parking, gas pumps and day garages.

You must have had your car Teched within the last 30 days prior to this event (annual tech forms are no longer accepted). You can have your car teched at any certified mechanic locations such as Air Power Racing, Hillside Tire, local Porsche dealers, and other specialty shops such as Concourse Auto, Motorsport in SLC, Kapp's European in Orem, etc. It is up to the discretion of the shop as to whether they charge for tech inspections.  PCA National requires us to a "Top Tech" at the track so please be on time or you will miss your 1st session. Tech inspection forms are available at http://int.pca.org/track/2009/DE_TECH_Form_2009.pdf

You do not have to be a PCA member to participate and we expect a number of BMWs, Audis and other marques on the track.  There are also safety requirements for you and your car. These include a Snell SA 2000 or later helmet, closed toe shoes, short sleeve shirt, shorts, long pants or driving suit. NO convertibles without rollover protection. Boxsters and 996 Porsche Cabriolets have factory roll over protection, and will run with the top up. Earlier model Porsche convertibles will need roll bars or cages installed. All vehicles must run with the tops in place, no open top cars allowed. (This means T-tops, convertible tops, targa tops, whatever, must be in place and up!) Please indicate your level of experience on the registration form. There will be instructors available for the beginner groups.

We hope to see you all at the Track.

Sincerely,

Otto Silva
IRPCA President

This is what I have scheduled for track days, all of which I will be in attendance to teach (my car is out for the season) where applicable.

As this could be a compendium relied upon by some, I request all impute, additions  and corrections. I ask that someone even more anal than I (Ed, Bob, Jeff, Otto, et al) feel free to put a “FINAL” on the final audited list.

Please do NOT count on this as the final word.  There are many track days planned, many of which you will want to utilize.  Everywhere I look I see a different schedule.  I would like to draw up a synopsis upon which we can all rely.  I will be ok to moderate this issue, but ask that I not get bullshit “right ons” and “I’m in.”  If you have something to add, please do so.  Once an accurate list is created, it will be verified and published as “FINAL (as of June xx) TRACK SCHEDULE FOR 2009.”

Carl,

What is this "July 10th Friday, PCA/Lapping Days/etc instructor training?"  Since I have been inducted into instructorhood, I am thinking perhaps I should do some of this.

Thanks,

Will Crowther
