Hello Everyone,

I just discovered this site yesterday, and I think it might be the
impetus to me finally getting a 3G phone. Only issue is that I'd like
to keep my Verizon service (much better coverage than AT&T in our
area, and I've got 18 months left on our contract with Verizon).

Anyways, I saw a lot of discussion from back in November that Iplay4E
didn't work great with android phones. However, with the latest
release of Opera Mini 5, has anyone had a chance (with the Droid) to
check out how Iplay4E works now?

If I get a Droid, and use Opera Mini 5, what types of degredation can
I expect?

Everything I know indicates that Opera Mini is now working just fine,
including their Opera Mini 5 beta. I've used their online emulator to
confirm this. I wouldn't expect any problems.

But nothing would beat going to the phone store and trying it out ;->

Cheers,
Andrew

> >Im using it on opera mini 4.2 atm. Mini 5 is still in beta and the fonts dont flow as well for me. Im using nokia n97 mini. Some small issues on etc tab. When u select say a skill roll, and then go back to etc to select say a str check from the pane, it still does a skill roll.

Also when u select some powers it just sends u back to the start pagw
of the char.

An alternative to keep in mind if you are not dead set on an android
phone is the palm pre plus. They are on Verizon and iplay4e works in
the native browser on my pre.

I secoond Andrew's sentiment though. You should try them in the store
if you can.

I would love to be able to use this on my HTC Hero. Downloaded Opera
and it is unusable on my phone, does not work at all. Based on the
reviews many other Androids users cannot use the new version of Opera
either.

Any suggestions for a way to make this work?

Thanks,

Chance

Hey Bubbahoteph,

Sorry so slow to respond to this.

We've been looking into Android options, and hope to have something
good to announce in the not-too-distant future. In the meantime,
you're pretty much stuck with the other suggestions in this thread.

Cheers,
Andrew

The new Opera mini 5 beta is way better. But I'm definitely looking
forward to whatever is coming for Android, as I'll be an Android user
for the next 2 years.

The Android browser is not capable enough to support iplay4e, sadly.
If you're about to vote with your wallet, maybe you could file some
feedback (bug report, feature request, whatever) first? It isn't
beyond what they *could* support; just beyond what they do.

If you choose to do this, what you need to campaign them for is XSL
support in their browser. It's absence is downright ridiculous, given
that it's a web standard and is supported by IE, Firefox, Chrome,
Safari, Safari Mobile, Opera Mini, etc...

Cheers,
Andrew

Firefox for Android is slated for 2010.
