Hi all,

So related to all the scrolling stuff we've talked about...

I've found that text areas can be scrolled when there are more lines
of text than it can hold by using the two-finger scrolling approach.

Although seemingly completely missing is the ability to reposition the
cursor in a multiline text area. The only way I seem to be able to is
to hit Done, closing the keyboard, and then clicking the text area
again in the position I want the cursor. But there's no way to bring
up the magnifying glass and reposition it properly.

Can someone tell me I'm wrong? Or is the iPhone support of text
area's really that bad?

Note: Single line text inputs seem to work fine and as one would
expect.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Josh

As a quick follow up, the 2 finger scrolling only works when the
keyboard is down and not while you're editing text in the text area.

I was able to scroll with one finger while the keyboard was open, but
you have to be precise. As I moved by finger towards the top of the
textarea, I slowed down, and text started scrolling upwards(actually
downwards). The magnifing glasss was on too.

Wish I had a screen cap program to show ya...

here, try it on this test page http://www.myhip.com/wireless2.html

The lack of magnifying in a textarea is incredibly annoying. File
bugs in Radar.
