redirect for iphone

I am trying to figure out how to get a website to redirect the iphone
version of safari using .htaccess. Does anyone know a way to get this
to work? or is there a better method?

Chris, if you have mod_rewrite enabled, you can branch on the User-Agent
header.

See this page:

http://httpd.apache.org/docs/1.3/mod/mod_rewrite.html

and search the page for User-Agent to see an example just like what you
want.
