Hi,

I need to know
1. can we make in-app credit card transaction, using some 3rd party API (Paypal, authorize.net)
2. using [1] can we automatically deduct monthly services charges from user credit card? (i.e. automatically pay his bills)

any help/hint will be highly appreciated.

Thanks!!

I have read that Apple will decline any app that implements an internal payment model.

You must use StoreKit if you want to use the AppStore.

I think if your app supports eCommerce transactions, that is permitted - an example is the Amazon app.

I think if your app enables functionality within your app as a result of your transaction (and bypasses Store Kit), that would not be permitted.

A grey area might be if you accept a payment to enable functionality within your app because you need to be a member or subscribe to another service. An example might be a photo app like flickr. In this instance, you might need to have the service and accept the payment outside the app to justify that you aren't trying to bypass the Store Kit api.

Would be good if there was some clarity on this from Apple. Anyone else got a better insight?

Went to Paypal X Conference.

Anyone able to use Paypal iPhone SDK on your iphone app? able to get
Apple approval?

I see few app were able to carry out shopping cart & credit card
functions. Are they using network methods?

Even you use In App storekit, you would have to build your own
tracking payment history.
