I'm looking into diagramming my IOIO project with KiCad.  Has anybody created a component library for use in KiCad?  Or exported the Eagle version for use with KiCad?

Thanks,

SparkFun makes their library of Eagle symbols available under a CC
license. Just search their site.

There is a tool to convert from Eagle to Kicad. I've never tried it.

Dan,
You are aware that the EAGLE files are in hardware/ in the repo, aren't you? That is, regardless of SparkFun, the hardware is open.

Yes, I know. Converting CAD systems usually means extracting all the
symbols and circuit netlist; converting to the new system; and then
import into the new CAD system.

I just find it's usually easier to convert symbols from the libraries
than exporting them from a drawing. This is a bigger win if you want
to add some parts for a customized design. The SparkFun libraries are
pretty nice.

Thanks for the reply.  I know almost nothing about designing schematics so keep that in mind...

My understanding is that the SparkFun Eagle file is a schematic of the IOIO itself.  What I would like is a simple Kicad library that I can use in my own schematics that use the IOIO.  For example this is what I'm currently trying to diagram: http://www.instructables.com/files/deriv/FQI/9NR1/HH2VM4LY/FQI9NR1HH2VM4LY.LARGE.jpg

Got it. I think I saw a IOIO footprint for Fritzing. Might be useful for you. Probably only IOIO v1 though.
