Hi all!

Can I change the folder where the exported XML files are saved?

Unfortunately, no, it does not appear to be possible to change where
DeepSee writes its export files.

Hi Lexi,

I just observed this funny behavior - Change the relative path under
Administrator--> Site Configuration--> Path --> Working Directory and
the xml files are generated ( e.g. from Architect -->click on the
export button) with in a directory with 'export' is appended to my
given folder name.

E.g. if I give your folder name as work\samples\trial ( relative
path), the file would be generated in a folder called work\samples
\trialexport !!!

Some of my earlier post to the google group(s) has not gone thru' ..
so you may please want to share with the community in case this
happens again.

Thank You.

Hi Bhaskar,
Thanks for reminding me about that site option.

It appears that you're supposed to include a final backslash on the
working directory name. Then DeepSee creates export and import
subdirectories. If you omit the final backslash, DeepSee creates
yourdirectoryexport and yourdirectoryimport (I just verified this
myself!).

I will update the doc. to note that the export & import directories
are relative to the working directory, which can be set as a site
option.
Cheers,
Lexi

Hi!

When I change the directory and try to export, I get the following
error message: "Error exporting XML"

What can be wrong?

My only idea would be to make sure the directory exists. When I tested
this the other day, DeepSee did create the directory for me, but
perhaps things are different (buggy?) on different operating systems.

Were you able to export using the default directory?

Also, it seems that you specify this directory as a relative path
(unlike the other path site settings!). If you tried to specify a
complete path, I'd expect trouble.

Yes, I can export using the default path, I think that I got this
error because I specified a complete path. I'd like to know if there's
a way to do this.

It doesn't seem possible to specify a complete path.

If you simply want your export directory to not be a subdirectory of
the "working" directory, you could use a relative path of the
form ../../../etc, right?
