This is going to be a section to ask about specific sites and their
usefulness and safety.
A lot of us common users don't have a clue what is or not a good
place to go or why or how and likely never will due to our lack of
memory or time spent on the net or computer among other things so we
need to have those of you who do understand help us out.

Ok so some of us who are disabled don't get out much so the computer
tends to be our best friend and or distraction from pain or boredom or

I recently was referred to this site and signed up for it and I am

Think so - PC Magazine [link] has a utility in their collection
called Change of Address or COA. I've used it to move apps from one
partition to another. This utility takes care of updating all the
Registry settings. Never tried it with an external drive, not sure
what would happen if you disconnected the drive.

Thank you for reminding me now I used to do it without a partition on
my hard drive.
Does anyone know if you can run programs from your external harddrive
and if is there something special you need to do for this to happen.

I have installed OFfice 2007 on a machine that was already running
Office 2003. All I did was specifiy a full install rather than an
upgrade, and specifiy a different installation folder than the default
offered by the installer, i.e, somethng like c:\Program Files
\Microsoft Office 2007 instead of the offered c:\Program Files

Personally I used to use two but on different partitions and no idea
how I did that now. But also both programs had different registration
numbers.

This particular question here about MsOffice2003 and 2007, and I
believe they also have separate registration numbers. These are not
programs that were updated to something newer.
