I'll need an Experienced Users to test something out on the 950, on a
Windows 7 x64 OS, and also available.

works (i mean opengl) ill go back to 64bit.

This is the latest driver package with a modded .inf yes.
It also contains the proper .reg file and instructions to use it
inside.

The OpenGL does indeed work, I've tested myself. Full OpenGL 1.5 with
partial 2.0 and GLSL 1.1

Neo did u merged Sigma 2 with the new inf?

what i mean... are Sigma 3.0 files based on Sigma 2 with a new inf.
or are those files not comming from Sigma 2?

Well, I've used a couple of tweaks from Sigma 2, but the only file
changed is the .inf , all the rest is Intel Latest

Well, I tested it on BF2142 last night. It's hard to say, but I think
I gained a 5 fps increase. Im running 19-50fps on low with medium
textures and full view. I'm very impressed. It definitely is
smoother. Im also using the "2" input on the tnl, and I think that is
the best config. Ill test some other games later.

also should these be named Sigma 3? Wouldn't that throw off the
numbering system a bit? Like I thought the 1 series meant x86 and 2
series meant x64? What about like SIgma 2.1?

Nah, I"m working with "good version numbers" . A software doesn't have
2-3 version numbers just for a 32 or 64 bit.

Here's the 32bit version of the driver for Windows 7.

IT IS NOT TESTED YET as I have a 64bit system.

Yup yup. 2nd one is the 32bit version. Both for Windows 7, do not use
with Vista as it might bsod ( haven't tested, but some work was done
to make the drivers work more "natively" in Windows 7, hence the

i just installed it, and reporting installation success :) no BSOD no
nothing...and i actually did notice a huge FSP increase on NFS7 and
NFS8 *i just love old games* the FPS increase happened when i used the

Umm, I'd get WotLK just so you have access to all content lol.

But if your trying WoW for the first time, they have a trial thing you could do.

Also I guess a 965 user could try the "2" setting if they use SET
vertexshaders "0" in their config.wtf file (so then it would be on the
same area as the 950GMA in performance maybe)

sorry for not joining this conversation...heh...^^
i finally did some testing with the 32bit bersion and i was impressed, literally ^^...
first impression is, my contrast improve (very good for an old LCD display) and also font rendering improve, although i have to calibrate again my cleartype setting, but overall interface looks good with this driver....
as for gaming, i intend to make a full in depth testing with ur driver Neo, and hope u'll wait for the results ^^
and if it's ok with u, i want to make some changes to make it work best with my system if it's ok with u Neo bro ..^^

overall, this is a very good release driver and problem free atm, good production value also as it improves windows 7 interface rendering... A Very good job indeed ^^

@Angelic :
Thanks for the more throughout feedback, really appreciate it ;) .
I'll be waiting for the game testing for sure, If you can confirm to
me that OpenGL has work for you I'd appreciate even more! Feel free to
make any changes you want, I don't mind at all.

@MiiHay

In-depth info for that won't be available "publicly" for a little
moment. There's so many wannabe's out there that just claim whatever
work their work and I'd like WAY more feedback before releasing info.
I do have a bit more idea's to make it even better and people screwing
around will just discourage me... I DID had to ban a user yesterday in
relation to that and don't want to have to ban more ;)

Keep the feedback's coming, the more the better as I can have more in-
depth info of your experience with it. I do test ALOT and troubleshoot
everything before sharing with other users but I only have one laptop
with 1 device in it! The more devices ( therefore devices ID ) I get
feedback from, the more I can push it for you :)

You know what, due to me not paying attention modding my laptop lately, I think I'm still on Win7 v1.1MD lol should probably upgrade my MD to alpha 1, that was it for 32bit 950 I'm pretty sure, ill check it out tomoz. Jeez with all this talk of SVN and OpenGL I'm actually feeling the urge to research again as I'm not familiar on those two topics, pretty much anything else at all to do with computers (both hardware and software) I'm knoledgable in but these two subjects in particular I'm not.

well I tested the driver, I'm reporting results

bioshock : failed to start T.T(mb the new driver is not compatible
with the shaders change I apllied to the game)
Prince of pesria 08 : gained 4-7 fps
dead space : runs now with mid setting smooth as silk =)
sfIV : gained 5-7 fps
l4d2 : gained 2-4 fps
league of legend : removed some of the slutters I had on mid settings
Dota : runs the same as before
starcraft 2 : No improvement at all (this is the game, that I need the
most)
pes10: cant really notice the improvement, cuz even with stock drivers
the game runs always with 30+fps
mirror's edge : 17-25 fps with my modded config file (it looks really
good =))
portal : cant notice any improvement as the game was running good with
sigma 2.0
nfs mw : the same as portal
Oblivion/fallout 3: those are the games that profit the most of the
driver and new reg tweak(oblivions Runs very smooth, fallout 3 gained
about 7-10 fps, even if I enable hdr)

overall oblivion and fallout are the best games to try with sigma 3
and new reg tweak, thank you Neodragon for this driver =)
btw how to know if opengl is now active ?

ps : sorry about my noob english T.T

there is this option when we check the settings of the GMA950...under
Display settings>>>>Power Settings.

Power saving and performance settings...changing that to "Disable
power saving" has made a huge FPS increase for some of the games i
play...but with the side effect or more heat :( ...also if u click on
"Modify Settings" you get another window with (intel rapid memory
power management) and (intel smart 2D display technology) do any of
these settings affect game/pc performance??

based on the 965 drivers, and that might explain the boost in
performance for most people

if u want more heat set to "Disable power saving" else try "Good power

experiment with different settings...i get more FPS but with sacrifice
to more heat generated :( maybe you'll have different luck!

oh and btw, i down graded to V1.1 (it's getting old i know ^^) but sigma 3.0 causes some instability in my in depth testing, also i need to compare both driver....oh and im doing some experiment on making BF2 run on 950...kinda fell in love with this game and im dying to make it run...lol..

i guess its only me :( with the C2D running, its already heating
up...and now disabling power saving..maybe it made things
worse...lol :D am done with my semester now, and now am working to get
a nice gaming laptop :D i have a PC already, but its always at
home..and my bros use it most of the time...so i need POWER
portability :P hahahaha...BF2 is awesome man :D i love that
game...hmmmm...abt the in depth testings...where to do that? :)
benchmarking tools? or something else!?

Just wondering but what exactly was changed in the INF for a 965 user?
The only value I see that may be changed is just memory.

Also with Sigma, I don't see what was changed with that to make it not
support OpenGL. Unless a different driver base was used.

Just trying to understand is all :) it might aid the drivers I'm
experimenting with.

@lolattheotherguy & Espi

guys thanx for the tips...but i don't think its about dusting or
anything like that...its abt the voltage of my C2D and the voltage my
mobo supports...hmmmm...i think one is higher than the other...which
means its the CPU XD so thats why its generating the heat..couple of
days ago i did full dust blowing with a thin-tip compressed air...got
all the dust out, and the thermal paste is still fine i see :)

@irony....thats strange o_0...are u using windows7 ?? because i found
this settings under this OS..maybe..also, are u using Neo's driver?

@ Angelic : Instability?!?! Give me more info , cause the source of
instability might be coming from something else than that, mine is
working pretty perfect for a week now....

im not saying that it's bad ^^ sorry for not detailing the info..
yeah, it's pretty stable in everyday usage, and it is a great work by u..period,
the instability comes from some of the testing i use...and not basic testing in gaming,,

some of the result are:
- WinSAT configuration are instable in my system, first run winSAT gives great result with aero performance, but i want to do more with winsat setting, it is instable when i enable experimental GDI which support both CPU and GPU rendering on windows interface, but it causes the GDI to lock up and stuck at windows basic themes, but for normal GDI, its working great..

- Adobe AIR 2.0, some of my application which uses the GPU as rendering tool cant work properly, as my testing goes...and other MD except V1.1 cause the same error, but its not a big deal as Adobe AIR is not being use daily...

i will give some more info later as im in rush now...and i will give some tips for ur inf's structure and some of the codes that might be useful ..later ^^

As of today I'll be a bit less here, my new job is starting tomorrow
( believe it or not, I plant tree's in the spring/summer, so your kids
can actually have some air to breathe... and it's good for my wallet
too XD ) but I'll stop by everynow and then to see what's going on.
Keep the idea's coming and in order, cause I already have some good
idea's for the next Drivers :). Don't expect them until Intel release
an official updated driver package first tho, as we need them to fix
some of the **** work they're known to be doing.

Oh, and make sure you try Sigma 3.0 !!! =)

spot for new drivers? Since updates for older drivers isn't allowed,
doesn't that mean that its now taken up by Sigma 3.0?

I barely noticed a difference in inf files when compared to Alpha.
Thats just me though. But was was changed 965 and 945 users? Like what
inf settings?

@Irony:

bro, i manage the site, and the links are UPDATED "i haven't included
Sigma 3.0 YET as we still need more testings" but..am not sure at
all..that is pretty strange :S

@Everyone:

Sigma 3.0 INSTALLED fine under my following specs:

Windows7 x86 7600 OEM
T5500 core 2 duo
3GB Ram
GMA950 "Sigma 3.0"

and ever since last week, my laptop's been running fine..though, the
only performance increase i found was under NFS7/8...i tested OpenGL
under CS 1.6 and the game still lags like **** :( am getting CS:S and
WoW to do more testings.

The new IMPROVED "reg" tweak is giving lots of performance increase
indeed...now i was gonna test the "reg" tweak on Alpha drives to see
if the Sigma 3.0 really is better with or without this "reg" tweak but
i didn't have the time :( i'll be trying it ASAP.

Also...i've got a problem running two games "NOT BECAUSE OF THE
DRIVER" CS 1.6 exits suddenly after like 2-3 minutes of game
play...and it doesn't just happen once or twice...i get bored of
trying it again and again....and again...unless i set HL.exe to a HIGH
CPU PRIORITY...the game would keep on CTD now and then....also, L4D
seems to be giving me quite the trouble too...just after the game
reaches the loading part it also goes to CTD, re-installed it many
times...but still same ****...if anybody have idea on how to fix the
issues, i'd really appreciate it :)

@Gerard : These are 965 Drivers.... I told people that they might
wanna try, but It's not a 100% sure that you're gonna be able to
install it under the 950 ( or for the matter get all the tweaks )

@DanielPk: Play with the 3DSettings in the intel control Panel. I
found that using the "Driver memory footprint" in low usually gives
you a good boost for opengl . Might wanna try putting Asynchronous on
( V-Sync ) wich should help quite a bit too.

because in theroy, 965 users could use Alpha drivers and still get the
same performance as sigma 3.

I'mma go find out for myself what Sigma 2 was based on here...

In the x86 versions of the Sigma 3 and 965 package from intel, the
only difference is

- Async option
- Memory
- Named drivers

theres a few other minor changes, I'll find em later

Plus i now know that such a program exists.

Anyway, if it boosts performance for others, then I guess thats cool,
I just wanted to know what was exactly changed to try to use it on my
XP MD.

Also if I heard correctly, I think this actually might count as a
driver by itself, which means it would of taken up that one driver
spot we had.

The MSI was "re-added" on the x64( it was removed by Intel themself in
the x64 ) but not enabled. It actually decreased performance and added
a few lag spike so I decided not to enable it for this release until I
or someone else found a way to make it work like it should (Something
your little program didn't catch up because you've checked the 32-bit
version wich I haven't test AT ALL.

Exact same changes almost, only difference is the MSI thing, which
doesn't exist in the stock inf, but its in the sigma3 (but its
disabled).

But if I'm correct, then the only thing these drivers do is change
something with SViO (or whatever its called), HDMI Timings, and some
Async thing.

And if I also read right, the Async thing just disables vertical sync.

I could be wrong though...

AngelicTears

Async disable v-sync directly from install, same result can be achieved by adjusting the setting in openGL 3D setting, *maybe*

as for the 64bit, yeah, MSI doesnt work well with MSI enabled, my V1.1 64-bit also doesnt include that, as 64 bit bandwidth are optimized enough for performance...32bit on the other hand need MSI to achieved the same result...but something im curious about, how that Neo's driver actually improves windows 7 GDI rendering (font, aero, etc)

i stand by what i said before, this IS a good driver, i juz dont know how u did it Neo ^^
