Subject: IPP and VISTA (It works!)
Hello all
I thought i can put in a brief note to let you know that IPP now runs
on my Vista Ultimate.

Initially I had a lot of trouble getting it to work and after some
massive help offered via this Group we were able to figure out that
the problem was with apache.

-The Apache which came with the installation, for some reason, did not
work. I downloaded a free version of apache from http://www.wampserver.com/en/
[it is straight forward.. download file.. click on setup file and it
installs!!). I was able to access localhost at this stage.

-Now IPP have a cool simple webpage which describes how to configure
apache if it is already installed on the computer.
http://www.insilicos.com/ipp_apache_config.html
just copy the code form this page.. paste it at the end of your apache
httpd.conf file an magicall IPP now works!!!!!!!!

very exciting.

now that i got this to work (and in the process developed a deeper
sense of understanding as to how program installation works on
vista!.. long way to go for a biologist :) ) i am excited about
actually using it and getting results.

Unfortunately i could not get the TPP to work on my Vista PC. will
keep you guys updated.

If anyone needs help using a vista machine with IPP let me know..

Cheers
Sri

Sri,
Thank you for the update and instructions.  We will issue a build that
does not require manual installation and configuration of Apache as
soon as possible.  Until then your instructions should be very
helpful.

thank you,
Bryan Prazen
