Hi,

I'm looking for feedback on the latest v1.3 beta build, build 94. Has
it improved / decreased reliability? Has anything gotten worse in
build 94? Has anything improved? Is it much the same?

I'm also keen to hear from those folks that were having problems with
the shared clipboard in previous builds, as there are a number of
clipboard fixes in build 94.

Thanks,

Shane.

My setup:
#1 Windows 7 Home (at home master of #2)
#2 Windows 7 Professional (at home slave of #1, at work master of #2)
#3 Windows 7 Professional (at work slave of #2)

The issue that the port is already used continued on every slave pc
(very annoying since the shared clipboard isn't working).
But when this issue doesn't occur, everything works like a charm.

Hm strange a bug occurred today:
I wasn't able to use the shared clipboard until I open up
inputdirector on the system where I'd like to copy something.

Hi,

Were you seeing this problem in v1.2.2, or is it only since v1.3 Beta?

Regs,

Shane.

Hi,

The 'port already in use' - did you track this down to another
application, or does it appear to be a bug in Input Director?

Did you notice this issue in v1.2.2?

Regs,

Shane.

Hi,

In ID v1.2.2 the 'port already in use' issue doesn't occur, I'm using
2 days now ID v1.2.2.

BTW:In ID v1.2.2 I can only copy files from the slave to the master
but when I try to copy something from the master to the slave, the
last copied file on the slave will just be duplicated. But this issue
won't occur when coping text from master to slave or slave to master.

I think its more with this beta. The eset firewall is set up as in the
faq.
On the slave i have a folder program that opens when double left click
on the desktop, but get the clipboard paste failed. (entually several
windows open..)

Same here. Configuration:

Win7 <--> WinXP <--> WinXP
Slave Slave Master
Laptop Desktop Desktop
Auto sw Auto sw

Clipboard is generally fine on the two XP machines, but regularly
stops working on the Win7 machine. Rescanning slaves on the two
masters sometimes resolves the problem. Having I.D. open on the Win 7
machine also resolves the problem. 1.3b94 throughout.

I'm getting that a lot too.

I've also seen some issues with Microsoft IntelliPoint 8.1 (the version for the new Touch Mouse) - scroll wheel events aren't being handled all the time.

Latest Beta version is showing improvements.

1) Clipboard

The clipboard feature still 'stutters' and suffers from a summertime
bug... (some of the time is works, some times it does not).
This has occured copying from both the Master to the Slave and vica
versa.

2) Full Screen App click capture

I know this is related to how software is hooking the mouse clicks but
it would be simply amazing if Input Director was a single solution
that included full screen application/low level click capturing.

The effect is when, on the master, a full screen app (such as game,
cad packages, 3d modelers) is running. You move the mouse to a slave,
and click the left button anywhere. The application on the master
still receives a left click at the position when the mouse left the
master screen.

My rigs:

Windows 7 64bit master, slaves - 2 Windows XP 64bit, 1 Windows XP
32bit, 1 Windows 7 64bit (5 screens)

Windows 7 64bit master dual head, slave - 1 Windows 64bit dual head (4
screens)

As a side note: Excellent work, so glad this software is still active.

Hi,

Can I ask anyone who's noticed problems with the clipboard and is
willing to run a diagnostic version of Input Director, to email me
( http://www.inputdirector.com/contact.html ).

Thanks,

Shane.

I updated to build 94 today.

It seems like after a little while right clicking on either of my
slaves (one W7, one xp, with an xp master) causes an explorer hang. I
presume it's the shell integration for copying failing.

I have noticed this occasionally in the past but it seems much worse
now.
