Hey Dinky,
Remember when INN was the only place one could play bridge online?   We would have a dinner for all the INN folks at the national bridge tournaments.  I think it was the one in San Fran in 96 where we met.   One enterprising fellow ran some sort of screen capture program on the toon picture from INN and made tags for us to wear.    I also took BART and had lunch with Moani and her hubby that time.

Hi Mason,

I was at the San Francisco, San Diego, Seattle, and Phoenix nationals when I
was working for INN.

I'm still married to Cynthia Turner (former INN systems programmer) and
occasionally have contact with Conan Brink (another INN systems programmer).
More frequently I chat with Warren Schwader (another INN game designer, aka
Mr. Hoyle) and Corey Cole is still my bridge partner. But aside from that,
no contacts with nobody from my INN days.

I *think* I still have the Cawdor source code on a CD in my desk if you want
to bring it back. For one thing, it was less buggy than Yserbius (because I
fixed the nastiest bugs in Ys).

I've tried to manually get INN running as well as using the installer
and I hang at the screen after I enter a password. It just says
"Dialing" in the top right hand corner. I guess the server is down
huh?

Did you edit the config file (can't remember the exact name) as per the instructions? You have to make a couple of manual edits to point it to the correct place. Somebody here ought to have the instructions on the edits you have to make.

The newest version of DosBox does not have the DOSBOX.CONF.

 

However you can create a config file by running dosbox and typing CONFIG -writeconf dosbox.conf

 

The newest version of dosbox works fine with INN, just follow the rest of the instructions as found at the INNrevival website.  Edit the line in the dosbox.conf  file to put in your virtual modem line, so that the old INN game uses it as if it were a modem.   Those instructions are at the innrevival page.
