TRANSPARENCY
iNMR tries to combine transparency, which means that the user sees
what the program is doing, with power and simplicity. The three things
often conflict with each other, so some compromise is required. It can
frequently happen that the user forgets which processing has been
applied. This also happen on the spectrometer, but for different... more »

Back to Basics
Like the planets rotate around the sun, the processing model of iNMR
rotates around the command Reload. It is there since the very
beginning (May 2005), everything else was built upon it and it's the
only command that appears twice under the menus. The twin command,
called Repeat, most of the times is perfectly equivalent to Reload.... more »

annual subscriptions
|
| |
A new, so-far hidden, functionality of version 5 allows for time-
limited licenses. We can now offer annual subscriptions to iNMR, and
the price is extraordinary. For small groups, standard licenses still
remain the most cost-effective, though. For single users, disposable
licenses are a safe bet.... more »

The end of the PICT format
|
| |
The "PICT" format (or "QuickDraw Picture") was the native format for
pictures on the Mac during the past millennium. In 2001, with the
arrival of mac OS X, it was replaced by the PDF format. The PICT
format is partially supported by the Mac OS of today, but only for 32-
bit applications. I have tried to find a work-around, but nothing... more »

Maybe you have read many times the term "CPM" in my newsletter and
always wondered what it means. Now there is a short presentation with
pictures. You can't understand the CPM without knowing the way it was
born.

In 2005, when iNMR wasn't born yet, Apple released a shining new
operating system, called Tiger, featuring a new smart technology,
called Spotlight. Just like Google could retrieve anything on the web,
Spotlight could retrieve anything on your Mac. In 2006 iNMR was
already born and I asked myself if this new technology could be... more »

After so much anticipation, the era of version 5 has really begun. The
transition has been easier than expected. The new version is really
fine: a single problem has been reported during this month; it was a
minor one and was fixed before the final release. Since 2005 you have
seen many intermediate releases, each one with a few incremental... more »

Happy New Year to everybody!
We start immediately with important news. Please take the time of
reading this issue.
THE TIME-MACHINE CRASH
This is something that only happens with Lion and iNMR full edition,
and it happens in an unpredictable way. It doesn't matter if iNMR is
running or not. Time Machine crashes and it's very annoying. If this... more »
