Four-wheeling is not allowed on State land within the Forest Preserve.
The only legal off-road four-wheeling opportunities would be on
private property WITH the permission of the property owner.

I have been skiing in the winter on Fern Mountain for the past twenty
years or so. Some trails have been unusually difficult this year,
presumably because of the weather. There have been a lot of crater
like holes with water in them in places where I have never seen this
before. The bridges over the water on the trail to "Lake View Loop"

Hi and thanks for the email.
We have a great selection of trail maps here in the shop and if you go
to our website, address below, you should find a list of trails we
recommend for biking which can also be hiked.
We also have several mountains that can be hiked ranging from 20 mins to
an 1 hour climb.

 Hello all,
I've been to the beautiful Inlet 3 times so far and will be
returning this summer to camp/canoe/hike with a friend of mine. We're
having trouble finding good trail maps for the Inlet area. Even
harder to come by are maps that cover all of the Fulton Chain lakes
without cutting them in two somewhere.

The Inlet Parks Department trail crew has been busy out on Fern Mt.
Check out the pictures on our Files Page (IMGP0305tn.jpg &
IMGP0306tn.jpg). They installed several long-needed stream crossings
and added drainage, wood chips & signs. Of course there's always more
to do but keep up the great work guys!

We've been exploring some of the local
trails lately, so I'll try and post some reports/trail conditions.
Mike
