INDYSPEED UPDATES
August 26th, 2008

Boy, the summer sure has passed by quickly. The summer sports are peaking, with this being the last week of cycling events at the Velodrome.

Inline racing has another 5 weeks of racing, culminating locally with the MTV inline race Sept 28th, and Athens to Atlanta on October 5th.

Surgery Update

Cindi is out of Surgery,
and into recovery.
She should be in her room in about two hours,
and we will see her then.
Her surgeon came out,
all went well.
He removed the 2 arrays, as planned,
which included the 2 bad nodes.
He also said rest of surgery went well,
so expected recovery to be quick.

This is the most beautiful spot in Indianapolis to work out.
Scott and I attended Saturday after ice at Pan Am,
I'm still feeling the burn.
Hills, jumps, and great areas to walk it off.
I think they built this place just for Cindi.

Dryland Training Has Begun!
For those skaters planning on racing this season
you really need to be attending dryland sessions.
????????? Tuesdays from 7 - 8:00 pm
????????? Saturday mornings 9-10am
These sessions will work on form, balance, strength and explosive power
Our first skating race is only 12 weeks away!

I just got in the door to receive a letter from United Way.
We have been working on this for a while,
and now meet their requirements of the United Way Donor Choice program!

Ice Time
We have ice this Saturday, July 19th at the usual time, 7:00 am - 8:45.
Next ice at Pan Am will be August 23rd.?
Saturday morning ice fee is $8, payable to the rink after the session is over.
Dryland Training Has Begun!
The time is now to start dryland training. As we were unable to find any indoor location, we will be training out side.

Chicago Inline Marathon

The Chicago Inline Marathon is coming up on Saturday July 26th.
This is the day before the next inline event at Major Taylor Velodrome, July 27th.

Pan Am Plaza
Great news from IWSA, They have gotten an extension through April of 2009.
This will give us at least 1 more skating season downtown.?
Along with this announcement also come a price increase.
Saturday morning ice will now be $8. Next ice at Pan Am is June 28th.

I think that most of you know that I am a cancer survivor. In fact, a few weeks ago I celebrated my 4 year anniversary of survivorship.?

Because I care about you all, I wanted to let you know up front that my health status has changed, again.?

At my recent visit with my oncologist, she discovered a new tumor in my armpit.?

Time to work on the cycling component of the club... great lifetime skill, great way to see the great outdoors and a great way to cross train and help your skating! It's all Great!
What's going on....
THIS WEEKEND
Pan Am Ice Time: continues? on Saturdays from 7 - 8:45 am.
Sunday, May 18th:? Ken and Cindi Hart are "Hosting" a "LiveStrong Day Celebration Ride" starting at 9am on Sunday Morning. We would welcome everyone to come and join us in a ride of Unity in support of cancer survivorship. Please see the link for details [link] and if you can't or don't feel like riding, we need volunteers to help make the ride a success. We need someone to help with signing people in, and handing out maps as well as making sure the water jug is full. This is all before the ride starts! So please let us know your availability.? We are also looking for help on Saturday to ride the route with us and draw supportive statements in Chalk on the road...So for all you closet Graffiti artists out there... here is your chance!?
