Mhow, dist Indore, Madhya Pradesh

this is the same species whose id I had requested on 27 10 2009

i.e. "Request Species Id 271009 DKV 1"

it was requested by members that i send more pics. generally i have
seen this tree growing on roadsides.

some of the possibilities mentioned by members include:

Jarul (Lagerstroemia speciosa).

'Tree of Heaven' [Ailanthus excelsa]

"Appears to be from Meliaceae family"

That looks like Ailanthus excelsa !!

To me it looks like Alianthus . It is a tree animals do not browse and so will be found growing along roadsides and in wasteland. If allowed to grow, it becomes a huge tree. Of course, the best way to identify any plant if by the flowers, but then these are too small to have any.

locally it is called Maharukh

Attaching earlier thread about Ailanthus on Indiantreepix.
This tree belongs to Simarubaceae family I think closely related to Meliaceae family.
It flowers in spring to summer.
