Flower ID Request 20111006

 Hi,

 I grabbed this pic of a flower at IIT Bombay today. The plant was more than 5 feet in height. The plant was growing on the edge of a fresh water lake, Powai Lake inside IIT Bombay. I did not find it grow anywhere away from the lake. Could you please identify this flower for me?
