Acmella oleracea (L.) R. K. Jansen,  Syst. Bot. Monogr. 8:65. 1985

syn: Spilanthes oleracea L.

The species is distinct in discoid capitula, without ray florets, ovate to deltoid leaves, leaf bases broad obtuse, truncate to slightly cordate; capitula cylindric large, more 
than 1 cm wide, yellow with reddish centre; involucral bracts 15-18, triseriate; mature achenes without evident cork-like margins.
