This plant was observed at 2-3 places in Mahabaleshwar esp on the edge of the valley.Nov 2009
Requesting the Id of this Acacia.

... most probably Acacia leucophloea ... commonly known as: brewers acacia, distillers acacia, panicled acacia, white-bark acacia • Bengali: সফেদ  বাবলা safed babala • Hindi: arinj, रेवंजा reonja, safed babul, safed kikkar • Gujarati: હરમો બાવળ harmo baval • Kannada: bellada, bili-jali, nayibela • Malayalam: velvelam • Marathi: हिंवर himvar • Oriya: goira • Sanskrit: arimedah, shwet barhura • Tamil: sarai, வெள்வேலம் velvelam • Telugu: తెల్ల తుమ్మ tella tumma

This is not Hivar as the flowers were more white and in single or few long inflorescences rather than many. Also the flower size was much bigger than that of Acacia leucophloea(Hivar). I have observed similar Acacia in Kas in Oct.
