re:diascorea inflorescence and leaves

this is said to be diascorea species. can someone confirm?
i had planted one bulb 10 years ago, every monsoon, the climber appears,
flowers and dies out.
roots are said to contain steroids and are used for joint pains.

because the plant has three leaves. while Diascoria has one like beetle leaf
similarly diascoria gets bulbils in its axis which r edible

Hi Vivek,
It is Dioscorea hispida locally called Pashti. Sending you a few photographs of the same. The photographs were taken at my farm at Shahapur.

Hello Mr. Vivek--

 

It is Dioscorea daemona ( D. hispida). Actually this is the south indian species. It's cormy tuber is subterranian ,having ppoisonous corticosteroids----in some places tribals use it on arrow head ---also for fish poisoning etc.
