Sorry for the picture without adequate details. Oberonias are observed in Kas so I was badly searching on trees But Sachin Punekar told me it's too early to see the full flowers. Luckily I could see this one . Not aware which species are found there.

You can find this specially on the trees when u are descending the steps to Thoseghar waterfalls... Could find couple of them there....

Even i hv captured it from Kas and want to know species..but flowers were not open, we have it in Amboli too

Thanks Satish ji. For people engaged in Tantra activities it is not less than a boon. In my database I have information about 21 formulations in which it is used as main ingredient.

It is Oberonia species, belongs to orchidaceae family.

This particular Oberonia is showing pendulous habit of growth, with tiny flowers produced in a spike and is an epiphytic form.

Oberonia is represented by 53 species . Our God's Own country, Kerala, reports presence of twenty four species .

Not sure if there are more than one species at Kas, attached are photos of Oberonia falconeri (my belief) ... ... this is two years back, 28 SEP 08 at Kas.

Oudhia sir, dont worry I will not practice tantra....just kidding....

@Ms. Sweta: Thanks for the information, just one addition, you are
absolutely right, may be you meant it that way and I misunderstood. In
India itself this genus is represented by 52 species including two
varieties. And then there are few new species coming from here and
there.

Oberonia stands for the Prince of Faries, Prince Oberon.

Yes your plant could possibly be Oberonia falconeri. But cant confirm
without opened flowers.
