We, a group of nature lovers have started free Tree Appreciation Walks in Mumbai.
Our aim is to create awareness and inculcate a love for the trees.
You are most welcome to join us for our walks.
The tenth walk is on Sunday 9th January 2011
Venue: Colaba Woods, Near Hotel President, Capt. Prakash Pethe Marg, Cuffe Parade, Mumbai 400005.
Time: 7.30 a.m.
Duration of walk: 2 hours
Meeting Point: At the entrance (near the clock)
Colaba Woods is a small botanical garden maintained by Tata Power Ltd. It has groves of Saptaparni,Areetha[soapnut trees],Ghost Trees Kanakchampa etc. and pathways of Amaltas, African Tulip, Bauhinia, Gulmohar etc. Amaltas is currently fruiting profusely.yellow Silk Cotton,Saptaparni,Octopus Tree[Brassaia actinophyla]....are flowering.
