Dear All
Roscoea sp from from Way to Deovan Chakrata. Small herb with about 12-15 inch height at altitude of 2400 mts. Family zingiberaceae
My id is Roscoea capitata

This is not R alpina
I was also in doubt whether capitata or purpurea. Panka Ji may be right in this being purpurea

Yes it should be R. purpurea, perhaps purple colour is confusing for Tanay. R. alpina has purple flowers and corolla tube much longer whereas both R. purpurea and R. capitata have mauve or light blue flowers and with shorter corolla tube. R. capitata has numerous flowers in the spike.

Sir another confusion
this plant was shot somewhere from Mussoorie area
This also looks like R purpurea as per the attachment supplement to flowers of himalaya

But see the flower colour and long corolla tube. It should be R. alpina, if I am not wrong

Sir R alpina i have uploaded separately. R alpina is about 15-20 cm only, much smaller than this plant
