In the villages, most of the houses have a large backyard where are found a good number of trees. This particular tree, did not bear any fruits at this time of the year. During summer, I have seen cows and goats gather to collect the fruits fallen down from this kind of  tree.

The fruits have a green cover, may be 4-5 black seeds. The whitish portion between them are eatable. I would like to request the identity/confirmation of this tree.

Local Name: Bettada Hunise (ie., Hill Tamarind)
Jul 2008

Kanuganahalli Village, Mysore district.

Regards
Raghu

"Manege ondhu mara". (One tree for every house)
