Scilla hyacinthina - South Indian squill

The pistachio and strawberry coloured Scilla hyacinthina flowers seen at the south end of the national park in Mumbai, 11 June '10.

Generally all books have a more purplish look to the flowers but in close up it is more green and white, but the filaments are purple which predominated the colour.

According to Isaac's book flowers are pollinated by nectar seeking bees and wasps and tubers are used in traditional medicine.

Thanks for the informative link Tanay ji.  Rajesh ji this flower is too tiny to give exact location and may not be there by the time you go,  but you will find some on any patch from the main path where signages of trees start, on both the sides of the path.
