Dear all,
 
'Rubia cordifolia' is called 'Manjishtha' 'मंजिष्‍ठा' in Marathi.
 
Rubia= Red लाल
cordifolia= Cordia- Heart, हृदय
                folia- Leaves  = हृदयाकृती पाने
 
(Here Rubia- indicating redness alluding to the dye obtained from fruit.)
