• I am in a process of updating "Guide for Indian Students coming to Toulouse, France (GIST)" and new release is planned for 1 December 2009.
• I am looking for specific information (see below under "queries"), especially from students and researcher arrived in France in year 2008-2009. 
  
• If you can answer/provide details it will be of help.

• What procedure you underwent to obtain French visa?
  
• What procedure you underwent to obtain your titre de séjour?
  
• What is the status mentioned on your titre de séjour?
• Did you pay any fee?
• Did CROUS / University/ you lab helped you? How?
  
• If you have spouse or children, did you follow any specific procedure to obtain residence permit for him/her/them?
• How do you manage/manged financial resources?
• Have you changed your visa status from "student" to "scientific" visa?
  
• If  yes can you provide details about change of status procedure?
• Do you have "rights to work"?
• Have you got l'autorisation Provisoire de Travail" (l'APT)?
• If so elaborate the procedure for getting l'APT.
• How did you manage your accommodation?
• Do you have any specific suggestion/pointer in this regards?
• Are you affiliated to "Social security"? If  not, why?
• If yes, can you provide particulars like subscription charges.

• Did you pay "Income tax" (Impôt sur le revenue)?
• If yes, elaborate the procedure.
• Did you apply or in a process to apply for French citizenship or long term visa (Carte de séjour for 10 years)?

• If yes, do you have any specific suggestions/comments?
