I'm trying to export an IDCS5.5 file to IDML, but it has gotten hung at the 35% completed point (as shown in the Background Tasks panel). When I click on the X in the panel, nothing happens. If I try to close the file, ID gives me an alert that a background task is in process and doesn't allow me to close the file.

Is there a way to stop the export operation? Or is this a known bug?

Known to me anyway -- have to force-quit to stop it when it hangs, which
for me is too often.
The little "X" almost never works. On the bright side, the PDF usually
works the second time.

Or you can make a "book" -- be sure to set auto-numbering OFF in the book
panel flyoutŠ then add your doc(s) to the Book and make the PDF from the
Book panel -- it will process in the foreground and will be more likely to
actually cancel if needed.
