Though probably going to be a short one. I just now discovered that if
you're wearing a polymorph ring and you turn into something that's
immune to polymorph... you're stuck. My 4th level spiked chain high
master (Hello, +2 weapon eligibility!) just got turned into a Malyss
root. Stay tuned for the death report!

Err. Wait, nevermind. No death report. Secondary attacks (like the
root's constriction) causes the game to crash. Right.

That was quick =P

Ooh, a new one. Well, not entirely new, but every other time I've done
something similar, I could actually see the critter I was wailing on,
via detmon or whatever.

Basically, my remake of the malyss morphed critter, despite not having
the awesome weapon eligbility, just chained a narzugon to death with
her eyes closed, while a green slaad and the 'gon's summons were
beating on her. There _was_ a reload involved (the first time, due to
the 'gon's bugged gaze of insta-death), but yeah.

Between semi-ridiculous DC (47. Another plus on my shield and a
defending chain, and I'd have over 50 ^_^), decent armor, bloody good
resistances (15 fire, lightning, 20 life drain), and a +2 regen ring,
I ended up walking away from the fight completely unharmed. Total HP
damage: 0.

High level, well equipped, characters are absolutely cackle inducing.
It's looking like I'm going to have another entry into my list of
combat _monsters_. Already walked up and just beat down a few high-end
arcane casters and a number of dragons, heh. Having resistances to
fire and death aura helps... a lot.

Yeesh, yet another, 'ooh, right' quick reply to self. Turns out the
lady's seeming invincibility was because, well, she basically was.
Turns out the shield glitch with turning and such apparently applies
to blinding shields as well, resulting in a DC _over 100_ versus
anything that has sight. Noticed this on the same level I totally
rocked out versus the 'gon, which makes me sad. I had thought I'd won
due to sheer awesome, not recursive light reflection.

Oh well. Back to the thaum/loremaster, I guess. Looking forward to
turning dragons into rats. (Legend lore int training + human &
asherath inherant potential) + loremaster int boost + highest plus int-
booster available = 4tehlulz spell DC, heh. Or maybe the illusionist.
Finally got one at the point of nabbing shadow monsters again, which
is another one of those 'haha-lookit-the-critters-die' things. Even at
half HP and doing half damage, a 20+ CR creature is going to wreck
absolutely everything.

I gotta try and see just which secondary attacks DO work, because
things like death gaze or shout would be pretty interesting and also
really monster-squishingly awesome.

Generally it's stuff like trip, constrict, etc; the stuff at the end
of multi-attacks that adds something interesting like natural trip or
grapple. Gaze attacks work fine (though they eat held mana with every
use) and natural abilities (Sonic bat's shout, ferex, or dragon
breath) generally function if they don't try to get you to need a
spellbook, which using the 'u'se menu instead of magic tends to get
around.

It's usually not much of an issue for anyone except wildshape spec'ed
druids, which have a few really good shapes (one of the early big
felines was absolutely vicious in a previous version, before this
stuff started inducing crashes, for example.) denied to them due to
crash inducement, but it can come up rarely if you're polymorphed into
something against your will. It's a pretty rare occurrence where that
happens _and_ you hit a shape that's got a crash-causer _and_ you
don't have a way out of it.
