Subject: Getting Incursion to work in Widows 7
I'm not sure if this has come up before, but I couldn't find anything
about this on the bug list or in this discussion group.

I can't get Incursion run on Windows 7. When I start it, windows gives
a message about having to run the program in basic colors. The program
runs normally, but abysmally slow. The time to get from option screen
to another is over 10 seconds. Oddly, it goes faster if I minimize the
Incursion window and instantly open it again after minimizing. I tried
using the windows tools to figure out the problem and it seemed that
the "aero themes" that are in windows 7 is a problem, but even
disabling them does not seem to work.

Does anyone here have any experience with this problem (and,
hopefully, about solving it)?

I managed to solve the problem (sort of). I'll report about it here
just in case someone else has problems with this.

If the windows 7 complains about having to run the program in 256
colors, right-click the incursion.exe and select "troubleshooting".
After that, windows gives two options. Select the lowermost option to
customize how the program is run. Then, select the checkbox for
"program is not showing properly" and hit next. You should now see
another list of check-boxes: select the option about running the
program in 256 colors and hit next. Run the program and if it works
for you, save the settings.

Although I should note that running the program like this will mess up
the display for your desktop and prevent you doing pretty much
anything else as long as Incursion is running.

I'm using Win7 and running Incursion. No problems on this end, though
I don't have UAC on (Honestly, it's an annoying piece of crap if you
know how to operate a computer competently.).

Note that Steam notifications (And who knows what else) also makes
Incursion crash. Best turn that kind of thing off if you're playing.
