I've noticed that the journal function is rarely used, and as a stand
alone feature, I guess it isn't anything too special because there are
a million sites that have journals.. but it would be really neat if
you could attach a journal to the calendar page, and/or to a place (so
that people could see it when looking at a place).

Also, I've noticed on my version of the iPhone app that you can't
'delete synced' anymore, only delete all. I use iNat a lot and always
have tons of stuff on there, and realize it is running slowly, but
keep forgetting to delete stuff after syncing. There used to be a
'delete synced' button and I think it is a good one to bring back (or
maybe i Just can't find it)

Yeah, there's just delete all right now, though in theory it should be
a lot snappier with lots of observations than the old app. I can add
it back in the next round of updates.

Will think about the journal changes, but it's definitely low on the
list of priorities.

I agree, the journal is hot super high priority. I'm just always
trying to find more ways to attach info that could be used for more
scientific surveys. I know it isn't the main focus of iNat but there
are just so many possibilities...

Speaking of which... the new notification system is great, but today I
got 42 notifications! I can't see most of them because it won't
scroll back that far. Also, I've only been away from iNat for a day
or two. Did I just 'follow' too many people or has iNat gotten a ton
of activity the last few days?

Notifications in the header are of any activity on your own
observations or observations that you've identified or added comments
to, so if you use iNat a lot 42 in 2 days isn't too crazy. You can
see all your updates on the dashboard as well. I was going to post an
intro to these new features but I'm also trying to get this content
into email updates so I wanted to wait until it was all up and
working.
