WHAT HAS THE REPUBLICAN PARTY DONE FOR AMERICA IN RECENT YEARS?

* Republican economic policies in place for many years gave us the worst
economic meltdown since the Great Depression through allowing their
white-collar corporate criminals to freely run amuck without regulation. All
the Republicans have for middle and working class Americans losing their
jobs and homes is police-state law and order control to keep them from
rebellion, which would be labelled "terrorism" and dealt with very harshly
under the Republican's Constitution-violating "Patriot Act!"

* The Republicans oppose badly needed health care system reform, arguing it
would cost too much. However, they hide from us the high cost of the
unnecessary wars they perpetrate. Seems that they would rather kill people
than heal them!

* The Republicans and their billionaire corporate cronies gave us FOUR
DOLLARS PER GALLON GASOLINE to make them all wealthier still.

* AT THE VERY LEAST, the Republican administration knowingly allowed the
9/11 attack disaster to happen. All warnings were ignored, and where was
NORAD on 9/11? Somehow, despite being the most sophisticated aerospace
defense system on Earth with many backup redundancies, NORAD "stood down" on
9/11, failing to intercept even one of four allegedly hijacked subsonic
jets, off-course and out of communication for over an hour while heading
towards known terrorist targets. It is clear those planes were ALLOWED to
get through!

* AT THE VERY MOST - well, can you say TREASON? Or perhaps INSIDE JOB? At
the very least, the Republican administration committed criminal negligence,
and at the most, perpetrated a treasonous conspiracy - one that
mass-murdered 3000 innocent Americans in the nation's worst disaster ever!
They've come a long way since their relatively petty Watergate crimes,
haven't they?

* The Republicans gave us a bumbling, incompetent president with the IQ of
a cockroach. When told of the planes striking the WTC towers on 9/11, this
president continued to read a story about goats to schoolchildren. This from
the Commander in Chief of our armed forces! Could he perhaps have been
whispered to that "all is going as planned?"

* The Republicans gave us the UNNECESSARY Iraq war, the LIES used to
justify it, and the liars that persuaded the public, still in shock from
9/11, to accept it.

* The Republicans gave us the Constitution-nullifying, freedom-stealing
"Patriot Act," likewise forced into acceptance in the wake of 9/11.

* The Republicans gave us the draconian torture of "terror" suspects that
disgraced America in the eyes of the world.

STILL WANT TO VOTE REPUBLICAN?

2000 was a LONG time ago.

The large banks perpetrated the BIGGEST recession since the Great
Depression.

All those bad loans were written under laws passed by Republicans.

Tax breaks for the rich.

WHY do people who earn MORE than $250,000 pay a LOWER PERCENTAGE of
their income, than people who only earn $20,000????

Or even $10,000?????

Geez, that makes sense...if you're a really WEALTHLY Republican.

Republicans don't represent the people: they work for the people who pay
for their campaigns: big business, big banking, pharmaceutical
companies, the military industrial complex

Well right now those making 20,000 or 10,000 actually pay no taxes.
They get it all back and often then some. Only about a bit over 60% of
the people in this country now pay taxes. I agree that all of the
"temporary" tax cuts should be repealed. After all since this economic
"stimulus" measure things got WAY worse. I also think however that no
one should be exempt from paying taxes. I am liberal in most views,
but a fiscal conservative in many ways.

One of the biggest burdens on our country right now if fightning
endless, needless, futile wars that have changed nothing other than to
enrich the companies that provide the materials and services. This is
big business. The same people that support continuing these wars are
the same that continue to complain about taxes and want more cuts.
There is nothing bigger about big government that waging war.

All of the garbage we are hearning knocking the healthcare program and
Medicare issues, tax cuts, blah, blah, blah, is a bunch of garbage yet
people believe it. Unfortunately, the Republican party and right wing
viewpoint in this country believe in using scare tactics to entice the
electorate. McWerter our Demorcratic candidate for Governor is not
different. I will not vote for him, though I have probably voted
Democrat 90% of the time in my life.

Oh, well enough of my morning vent.

Which Bush tax cuts are you talking about? Because surely they

That plus despite Obammy's claim not to raise taxes for couples earning
less than 250K$, taxes have gone up for those earning as little as
$8000. Check out the tax tables.

?Not true. I currently earn about $15,000 per year ($8.30 per hour, average
of 35 hours a week) and I usually get about $600 to $700 back as a tax
refund - no where near even half of what is deducted from my weekly pay.

I don't have kids or own a home so I don't itemize.

Should I be getting all of it back? What am I doing wrong?

I'm voting for the tea party, I don't give a rats ass who you vote for!

Both parties have been in bed together when it comes down to getting their porkbarrel and lobbying projects through. And when you compromise , taxpayers lose. They lose a little money, they lose a little of their rights ,they lose a little of their freedoms , "EACH TIME" !!!!! You eat away at the constitutional foundation.

When is this going to end, "CIVIL WAR" ? Lawyers and politicians will be the first targets !
