Purpose of "EmailSubscribers" table?

Hi team,

During customization process and digging thought related to the
Mailing lists functionality noticed that we don't have any real use
for EmailSubscribers. Can anyone shad some light on this?

Maybe this was 1st version of subscribing to site idea and then it was replaced with adding users to "Subscribers" group instead.

We can delete that deprecated table then.

Hi guys,

I remember we had some ideas about creating such thing as User Subscription to ANY event for any Prefix and Item within the Prefix. Here is a link to that discussion:

I know since those days we have greatly improved our Events functionality, but I think the ability to subscribe Users would be a great feature. We can use this table for it don't you think?

Based on progress with discussion you've mentioned I'll propose to delete that table and create it later, when needed.

No need to keep stuff, that isn't used right now.
