Hello,

I'm trynig this in v511, but it happens for a long time, and I want to report it.

Install a website, and when it's running, relaunch maintenance panel via "core/install.php".

It'll ask you what to do. If you clic on "reinstall inportal", you'll have on next page the DB configuration. If you select "Use existing In-Portal installation in this Database", and clic next, then the actual DB is emptied, but you are redirected on maintenance login page, and now the system have obviously forgot your root password, and you'll need to sort the problem by yourself by removing manually config.php file to be able to do a clean install.

What could the possible solution to such behavior?

We can't just remove "Use existing In-Portal installation in this Database" option after database was emptied, since user can enter other database details and check that radio button.

I don't blame any options here, but it's phareses are very confusing.

- when I'm looking to re-install, stating it'll delete everything, why should we ask if there any inportal DB?
- we can't finish the process, because DB is emptied and we are back to maitenance page

Ok, then I think that removing that option during re-install process could solve that misunderstanding.

Thanks Phil, Alex.

I agree with both of you and task will be done as part of 5.1.2.

Quick note to Alex, please try not to add more tasks to 5.1.2 but rather to Future since I am trying to get things going faster for 5.1.2 and then do 5.1.3 one.

Ok about 5.2.1. I though that this will be as huge release as 5.1.1, since we are not in a hurry to release it.

Also I thought, that we should plan each release together and not just add all new tasks there.

Yes I fully agree. As a matter of fact I have worked through the bugs and added them to 5.1.2 and already started working on them (as you can see in Tracker). Currently we have 36 tasks (90% bugs) which will be a part of 5.1.2, but I am willing to consider anything critical to add there.

To be honest I didn't want to take your attention from 5.2.0 work since it has lots of things to do which is why I was planning on doing tasks one by one in 5.1.2 myself and ask you just to test.

Hi guys,

Here is a patch which can be tested.

Please note that I was thinking about doing this in more fancy way, but it's just wrong to do many changes due to a small thing which probably will be just replaced with better functionality in near future. I hope we are on the same page here.

Additionally this patch fixes other minor things.

This means, that you've added to 5.1.2 what you see fit and when I'm trying to put something in, then you are telling that it's full already. Nice.

Now I'm not only unable to do tasks in 5.1.2, but I am even no longer in control what task is planned into what release.

Hi Alex,

I think there was a misunderstanding between two of us :)

What you said above is not what it is so let's try to focus here on development part and leave other issues to outside talks :)
