Hi,

tested on 510-RC1 lamp and wamp installs, with root and admin user: Unable to change any category permissions for root category modules, neither catalog root. Subfolders can be correctly setup.

Unable to change doesn't describe a lot about a problem. Please give more details, like:
  • permission screen is opened, but data I've change doesn't get saves into database
  • permission screen isn't available at all
  • anything else

I meant that permission screen is loading, and works normally, but nothing is saved. I don't have any error messages too.
That's why I said "unable", I see no other relevant details describing the situation. The test is done in less than 30sec., just edit a root module (I've done my tests on Directory), change any type of permissions, save and re-edit.

Hi Phil, Alex,

I have tested on 2 5.1.0-RC1 installs and it's working fine - changes are saved okay.

Phil, there was NO indications whether you are working with clean install or the upgrade. If it was an upgraded version, I suggest you try clean install and then report here the results and details (history) of your upgraded version so we can try installing 5.0.x first, then upgrading and testing the results.

DA.

Dmitry,

here are my test results, added the ones I've just made now:
- tested on a clean new 510-RC1 wamp
- tested on a clean new 510-RC1 lamp
- tested on an upgraded 510-RC1 lamp

I've discovered with additionnal tests, and like I told in my first
message, that the problem happens on in-link root directory (and not
on subsections).
I didn't tested others modules TD.
My tests were all about permissions for guest group.

Do you have the same behavior?
