Hello,

I've tested on 511 and 510, both locally and on different servers,
including demo.

User's are not automatically logged on after registering, when
"immediate" registration is enabled.
When we need to perform an action on next page, or let user continue
his surf, we need to ask him to login, this is breaking the user's
willing as well as the surfing flow.

Did we already talked about this? I didn't found this subject...

Users are actually automatically logged in after registration (with "Immediate" user registration mode). This always worked. Are you sure it's broken now?

When users are registering with "Email Validation" option, then they were not automatically logged-in before 5.1.1 version. In 5.1.1 version it's fixed.

Hi guys,

I just tested this on my 5.1.1 and it works fine - user is auto-logged in.

Note that, my Debug mode was OFF to make sure it's real user test case.

thanks guys for your reply, I'll also test with debug mode off.

Is there anything I'd have forgot in this demo case?

Is user you've registered in your tests in Active status after registration?

Or maybe you have auto-generate passwords option enabled.

I guess, since user doesn't enter his password during registration, then In-Portal doesn't know how to login him.

Actually in 5.1.1 version we have nice "login user by id" feature, that allows to login user without knowing it's password.

I think, that task named "Auto-login users by ID and not by login+password" should be created to fix that.

I'll wait for Dmitry's opinion about this, but I think, that I right with this one.

Hi guys,

Yes, I okay to create this task, but wanted to ask if this "Auto-login users by ID and not by login+password" for all cases even when we password is provided? Basically, we just going to validate the Username/Password combination and then do auto-login in all forms/cases or just this one?

should be better to have this function available through all website,
is there any point against that?

Alex, I'd be glad to learn the syntax of this feature :) Could it
solve my case, stating I want to have user logged after registration?

This is not a tag of course, Phil.

That just a PHP function, that could come in handy.

If we are talking about user registration, then I would use login by id in both cases, since it's one place and check by user registration mode will just make code harder to understand.

ok Alex, will this functions be added as a task, or will you share code here if it's not too much complex? or both :)

To much info here. Let's finalize:

Login user by id (not by username + password), when "Immediate" user registration mode is enabled (no matter auto-generated or manually entered passwords are used).
