Running anywhere from 300 to 500 hours, these programmes have helped participants conceptualise, develop, direct, shoot and edit short films.All participants learn basic film-making skills, including extensive practicals with camera and shooting gear. Film Appreciation and analysis. Shooting Ethics. Documentary filming techniques.

The participtants are then are guided from scratch to finish in making some short films (either documentary or fiction)

All programmes are conducted by Kavita Joshi, an alumna of FTII Pune; along with other filmmakers and film technicians.

Making Women Visible:

Aimed at women media practioners, especially those not from the visual media. Training included camera handling; understanding image creation; gender politics of the image; relationship between form & content.

 

Organised by the International Assn. of Women in Radio & TV (IAWRT) in partnership with Sancharika Samuha, Nepal.

 

Workshop conducted by Jai Chandiram and Kavita Joshi.

In July 2005 in Kathmandu.

 

WORKSHOPS FOR ADOBE INDIA

Understanding Scriptwiting for Cinema:

Basic training in, and an overview of scriptwriting for films. For software executives of Adobe.
Held in May 2009 at Adobe Systems India, Noida.

Trainers: Kavita Joshi, Mahesh Thottathil, Paromita Vohra.

Video / Film-making and Editing:

Basic training in filmmaking for video software executives of Adobe. 6 months after the course, participants won a global in-house contest for ad-films on Adobe products.
Held in February 2002 at Adobe Systems India, Noida.
