After a long stretch of inactivity, the CET- linux user group is back in action ..
This group was conceived by the Computer Science Association to bring together,
the large linux using community in the college. The main objectives are
1.To introduce the student community to LINUX.
2.To contribute free software and support to the linux community.
3.Through FOSS projects gain coding and project
management skills.

Suggestions regarding activities, and their conduct are welcome.
If you think you can help and participate in this group..feel free to contact.

Hi Yadu
Is there involvement from the students of ECE/Applied? There is a
good distribution of tools available for electronic design, which is
sufficient for running labs for the whole Electronics BTech curriculum
(circuit design, simulation, power electronics simulation, signal
processing, VLSI design & layout)

The distro is Fedora Electronic Lab (FEL), more details are here
http://chitlesh.fedorapeople.org/FEL/

This distro is being successfully used at Model Eng College for
running BTech & VLSI MTech courses. I can give an introduction and a
3-5 day workshop on how to use the tools (if required)

Hi  David,

There is involvement from the ECE and applied departments.
The HOD ECE dept, Dr. Gopakumar is a veteran FOSS developer, and
he has given full support towards this. I would definitely contact the
ECE dept regarding this matter . Someone from the ECE dept, will
be in touch with you very soon .
