Hi there - we are going away for a long weekend - Thurs to Monday coming and
I am looking to rent a DSTV card, as we don't have one and will need one for
the weekend.

I appreciate cards are usually linked to subscribers and will mostly be in
use, but I thought I'd chance it and ask the question - perhaps someone has
de-activated their subscription temporarily so wouldn't mind lending it out?

Am very happy to pay for it .... Any thoughts?

Thanks

Nicky

So you have a decoder where you are going and want to put an active smartcard in it for the week?

I believe multichoice put a stop to that a long time ago. Smart cards are I believe tied to a decoder. Had friends that had decoders in CT and Knysna and used one card - I don;t think they can't do that anymore!

Perhaps someone else  can shed more light but whats the likely - Just buy a smartcard and signup and then cancel after a week!

Details can be found on the DSTV Website here: http://care.dstv.com/main.aspx?ID=1943

Can not use only the smart card on newer models.

Cheers

That sounds a good solution - are there penalties for doing that?

I sometimes have a need for TV for a period of 5 days. I'd like to be
able to rent one, with decoders etc. just for that period, then get
rid of it. I'd happily pay a license fee as well of 5/365 of whatever
it costs.
