Xcode 4.2 + iLocalize 4.1 - The issue may have also existed before
with Xcode 4 and iLocalize 4.

When localizing certain Mac OS X apps for clients, some elements
become "bordered". This has proved to be a massive headache for me and
my clients.

Do you know how to stop this from happening or is it a bug of sorts?

Cheers,
Rob

Oo, I recognize this one. I didn't suspect iL had anything to do with that though.

Yeah, that's weird. IL doesn't do anything specific in regards to this attribute but maybe ibtool does it when used by iLocalize. Do you have by any chance the xib/nib file that present this issue?

Jean

Sorry for being so late in my e-mails. I've been able to reproduce this problem and unfortunately it lies in ibtool. I've opened a bug against Apple with a reproducer. I think it would help if you can contact DTS or open similar bugs so Apple feels a bit of pressure. The radar is #10489332?

Jean

I have the free account without any support, so I don't think I can make a dent anywhere. I will forward to Skype as a stakeholder, and have decide. Thanks for the help.

Is it any particular version of ibtool? This didn't use to live in v3.2.6 at least. Is it any version of 4, or from a certain version?

Regards

Alexander

As an intermediate measure I switched to Xcode 3.2.6 by running:

"sudo /usr/bin/xcode-select -switch /Developer3.2"

I already had 4.1 and 3.2.6 running side by side, because Xcode 4.1 is a productivity killer from a localizers perspective anyway. If hadn't been for Growl I'd still be on Xcode 3.2.6. for all projects
