Meetups on a regular basis

Hi,
Not much long ago if you check the http://lug-iitd.org/Main_Page
, this community used to meet on a regular basis , i would like to see
some new faces coming forward and organizing meet ups in there
colleges , community centers etc..

any takers for the next Geek meetup raise your hands now !!

I want to work as a voilentere,even though i am very new to the group and even to linux,but want to take active part in theses events.Also i want to plan a meet somewhere in outside Delhi and that too on open source robotics.I had some points in my mind,if you allow me to explain over here ,please let me know.

yes sure go ahead and start writing what is that you have on your mind
, few things you need to pick up while you do so , like the way i am
replying after your content and trimmed everything else , also trim

I want to organize the event of OPEN source ROBOTICS in the area of Lucknow,in my college as a aprt of our open source group SURYAAN,we had talked about it when we had a meeting in ISCKON temple.Actually,robotics till now is very much limited to t

he higher institutions and some companies.So as i faced the problem coping up the basics of robotics,i want to take a initiation to spread this knowledge to the place where it is not know.

TOPIC for the MEET, OPEN SOURCE ROBOTICS and LINUX( ROS [Robot operating system]),future and Job perspective.

City:- Lucknow covering the region of Kanpur and Allahabad.

Centre for meet:- CEST,Lucknow.

kindly let me know who so ever is agree with it.I know its a bit difficult but i just want to put infrot of the open source group.Suggestion needed.

yes it is is good topic describe in detail , i can connnect to like
minded people i know who i think can be of some help . again why
Lucknow why not start now with NCR region and as you gain momentum and
people you can plan for Lucknow.

My group which is being mentored by Prof.Dr.Priya Ranjan is a kind of open source group which worked on developing Amateur UAV system for Indian defense.We want to spread this knowledge among others also.

yes i want to talk about this in tommorow event if a opportunity is being provided to me. But i will be coming after 1 because had a work today.

yes we can start from NCR region also but there is a bit of mine interest to organize it first in lucknow,well if conditions are not favorable than  we can plan to make it happen itself in NCR region.

also as latest as yesterday i was reading about how Raspberry pi used
in this project http://www.daveakerman.com/?p=592 to send images from
near space , also i have been keeping an eye on this DIY project

No its not the latest one,we need to have some improvement in that but i am a bit busy in finding a job to get financially stable and thats why cant focus fully on our aim.Integration of Hardware and software and that too if included aeromodelling is a bit costly and not every body in INDIA id ready to invest on that,and people like us who don't belong to stemmed institution dont get that much help.We had to manage between our financial conditions as well as our field of interest.

Also regarding organizing MEET in lucknow there is also one more reason that SURYAAN was previously funded by CEST lucknow,so i want to let them have some benifit of that as they dont have that much good technical level,so i want to upgrade that level of college also.

I am a member of that DIYDRONES website and forum that make up those amateur UAV and there UAV are totally based on open source hardware platform ARDUINO,orginallly after attending Training from IITK,i owned that idea of UAV and DIYDRONES help me a lot to carry on my project.We as a team develop our algorithm and we had reached a level of transmitting real time VIDEO feedback from aeromodel at a range of 3-5 KM along with tracing it real time on ground control station.

we are working on deploying and using that Amateur low cost UAV as a mobile senor Nodes to be used in WSN.In our project we faced a lot of problems as our mentor was not in our college and in college there was no body to help.Well that is all past.I want to carry on that project to be deployed to INDIAN defence to be used at all the three level means on LAND,AIR and WATER is we get fund to carry our project.

all these topics i want to talk infront of all the Industries owners who can help us doing so and we can form a common meet up place where we should carry on our work after getting fund under the name of open source.

naa it too early feel the waters first in local city i would suggest ,
also on a priority basis you may need to find employment in order to
pursue all your dreams.

i heard from one student http://www.baseapp.com/ as being a good
company to work for , why don't you talk to them as well again you
have to have skills matching there requirements still i am not too
sure what kind of skills you have or lack of ?

Thanks for the suggestion sir,if u can suggest somebody like BASEAPPS,beacsue position over there is filled up,as i am not that much strong in CODING.I need a fresh start up.I will keep all these points in my mind.See you tommorow in the meet.
