Hey all -

As you know the Fall LANYARD schedule is still in the works - so I
have a few notes/updates.

Breeze and all - I have reserved the Parish Hall for the Potluck on
Sept 10th - so we are official!

Tim - I am wondering since the "theology and Bar" event is so close -
the next after the potluck - do you mind making calls about location -
I know we were going to split up responsibilities - but I am worried
we won't have a place. How is the speaker coming? Does anyone else
have ideas for a location?

Oh - and I added Mass and Brunch with the Bishop to our events list on
October 12th - It's a great event and we should support it - let me
know who's interested so I can RSVP. Thanks Theresa for getting the
word out.

EVERYONE - want to fill in some holes? Help plan an event?
For those of you who have helped with planning this summer and those
that would like to help plan for fall I propose we meet early before
the Potluck - say at 6 PM in the IHM Parish Hall to finalize events
for the fall and talk about PR and outreach - how can we spread the
word about LANYARD.

Hey Folks!

Made some changes to the schedule - Our next event is NOT on a
Wednesday - but Next FRIDAY, Jan. 30th here at IHM for Party with the
Priests. Come and ask our parish priests ANY question you have about
the faith!

The next day please join us for Winter Sports at 1 PM. Can someone
please Clarify if it's Grand River Park in Holt or Lansing and send
and address and a place to meet IN the park.

We have decided on a date to host the Confirmation kids party -
February 13th - but we need HOST and probably a meeting to get the
details together.

And we have a host for our Soup Kitchen event - Ashley S. is gonna
help call places for us and we'll get back to you with details!

Check out the schedule on our LANYARD site for more info. and If you
haven't made it to a LANYARD event - now's the time to come!

Thank you to all who attended last nights Theology on Tap. We had an
exciting presentation about Paul by Fr. Conlon. Thank you Father!!!

LANYARD lanyards are for sale for $2. They are blue with white text.
Contact Emily to purchase your lanyard. Proceeds go to helping fund
future activities.

We will be working on the Spring schedule in a few weeks. If you have
any ideas, please send your thought to Emily or Stephanie or join us

Hey folks!

Just wanted to let you know I am having trouble getting babysitters
for the events that we said we would provide one - March 18 and April
1. The High School youth are all attending another event at the time
we meet so they are not able to help. If you have any ideas of teens
that could help let me know. Otherwise please DO NOT plan on sitters
for those dates. If I find them I will let you know!

Hey folks!

Made some updates to the LANYARD Events Schedule including THIS
WEDNESDAY - April 1st. We will be attending the IHM Parish Mission
together at 7 PM in the Church. Let's meet in the gathering space a
little before 7 and I will try to reserve spots for us near the
Baptismal Font. (The mission is also happening tonight and tomorrow
as well and you are welcome to attend these nights too! - I have put
more info. about it at the bottom of this note.

ALSO - our next event is tax day poker on Wed. April 15th - I think
we had talked about having Stephanie or Ben host - please e-mail us
soon with details ;)

The date for the XLT has been finalized for Friday April 17th at 7 PM
in the Church at IHM. Come for great music and adoration!

And a new event - on Sunday April 19th on of our members will be
giving a testimony on her faith journey as a volunteer at IHM. She
would like to invite all of you to attend. That's at 7 PM in the
Parish Hall.

Finally - We need to set our new schedule. Please meet in the Youth
Room at 7 PM on Wednesday April 22nd to weigh-in on what our schedule
should be!

April 1- Parish Mission/Reconciliation Night - 7 PM at IHM in the

Lauren Kamenas. Come hear about her great faith story while attending

Mission Week at IHM
“Do This In Memory Of Me”
The Eucharist: Our most “precious possession”
This Sunday evening we begin four nights of reflection on the
Eucharist. In his letter Ecclesia de Eucharistia the late John Paul II
described the Eucharist as the center of the Church's life” (n. 3),
and that “it unites heaven and earth. It embraces
and permeates all creation” (n. 8), and that it “is the most precious
possession which the Church can have in her journey through
history” (n. 9). How special for us to be able to reflect on this
“precious possession” as we draw closer to the
celebration of that Holy Thursday Night when Jesus first gave us this
gift of himself, and continues to give to us in the holy sacrifice of
the Mass. Fr Larry Delaney, a well known and highly respected
preacher, teacher and retreat master will lead us each night.
Four nights — Four powerful talks
Sunday 7:30 pm, Eucharistic People
Monday 7 pm, Eucharistic Celebration (deeper meaning of Mass)
Tuesday 7 pm, Eucharistic Reservation (presented within Mass)
Wednesday 7 pm, Eucharistic Healing (followed by Communal
Reconciliation)
Child Care Provided --Adult supervision each evening
Refreshments will be offered each evening following the mission. Join

Just a couple of updates on May's Events.

Kara has done some calling for us and we will be going to Holiday
Lanes for Bowling on May 6th. We have lanes reserved at 7 PM.

For the May 20th Horseback Riding we have to go a bit earlier at 5
PM. We figured we could go out to eat somewhere after.

Just a couple reminders.

40 hour adoration will begin with a mass this Wednesday at 7pm at
IHM. Please come and then sign up to spend an hour with God. It is a
great time to practice all the forms of prayer we have been learning
about the last few Wednesdays.

We are going to the Catholic Young Adult Conference this weekend. If
you have not registered it is not too late. Please visit www.micyac.org
for more info. We will be carpooling from IHM if you care to join
us. Friday departure is 6pm and Saturday departure is 8:45am.

Hi All,

First I want to wish you all a Happy and healthy Thanksgiving
tomorrow.

As we approach the holidays and the end of 2010 we have a lot to
remember and be Thankful for. I want to thank all of you who have
been involved in LANYARD this past year. Your involvement no matter
how big or small is key to its success.

But we aren't over yet, there are still 3 events/activities planned
for 2010 before we kick off 2011 and a whole new slate of activities.

Nov 30th- Due to a conflict with the bowling alley we are going to
join St. Gerard's group with their Theology Dinner at Tony M's
beginning at 6:30pm. Fr. Van Rooyen will be the presenter.

Dec 14th- Christmas caroling at senior center on the corner of
Washington and Holt Rds. Life Teen members will be there to help
spread some Christmas cheer. Musical instruments are welcome. Please
meet in the lobby at 6:30pm.

And last but not least:
New Year's Party, Dec 31st at Stephanie's home in Holt beginning at
7pm. Please bring a dish to pass as we welcome 2011. Board games and
music provided. Any ideas or suggestions are welcome, please let me
know.
