Necessary qualifications for an external Ph D Guide

Hello All

 Since I am from Mumbai, I will be more comfortable with a Guide from Mumbai, rather than an internal one from IGNOU. I understand this is possible too.

1. While looking for a possible Guide from Mumbai, what qualifications must I look for ( besides the person being a recognised Ph D on  the subject). Does that person necessarily have to be recognised by IGNOU to be a guide?

2. Any other Cons of opting for an external Guide?

a guide must be a professor and hav produced more than 5 Ph Ds atleast.

Hi All

Please clarify this if possible. For a Phd one needs 2 guides, a supervisor and a co-supervisor. while ignou allows an extrnal supervisor, we HAVE to opt for a co-supervisor too? and that necessarily has to be interanl from within ignou faculty???

There is written for all there would be 10 questions you have to do only two questions do prepare your thesis also
