Start an editing session, select both parcels, on the Editor toolbar
pull down the Editor dropdown and select merge. ArcGIS will prompt you
about which attributes you want to keep.
Ok it if that is what you want. Then the adjacent parcel lines will
disappear.
Is that what you wanted? Or are there two separate shapefiles in
different locations??

If anyone could help...I am trying to merge to polygon files into one. I
have tried append, merge, and union and they all are not working. Any
