I'm reaching out to see if your chapter would be interested in these opportunities from Games for Change. Please let me know if you'd like any other information or if it’s possible to share this information through your social media channels or mailing lists.

Games for Change Festival (June 17-19, New York City)

The initial line-up for the 10th Anniversary Games for Change Festival has just gone online here: www.gamesforchange.org/festival2013/.

For IGDA members, we have a promotional code (igda) for a 10% discount on tickets.

Reflecting on the history and future of games for social change, thought leaders from the games industry will present daily mini-keynotes (30 minutes each). Confirmed so far are award-winning game designers Brenda Romero and Jesse Schell, and editor and journalist Leigh Alexander.

The Program and Speakers sections of the website will be updated with additional talks and panels in the following weeks.

 

Sex Etc. Game Design Competition

Games for Change is also awarding up to $35,000 to the developers who submit the winning proposal of a safe sex game prototype to the Sex Etc. Game Design Competition: http://www.gamesforchange.org/2013/04/enter-the-sex-etc-game-design-contest-to-win-35000/.

Finalists will receive three passes to the festival, where the winner will be announced in front of a live audience. The deadline for submissions is May 17.
