We are fortunate to have two of the partners of Blue River, Sean
Schroeder and Matt Levine, as our presenters this month:
Sean Schroeder
Chief User Experience Officer/Partner
After starting his own Internet services company six years ago (Studio
Squared Inc.) with Blue River's Matt Levine, award-winning designer
Sean Schroeder joined Blue River with a unique focus on solid design
principles applied to the user experience. Having worked with a wide
range of clients big and small, Sean's love for clean design and smart
technical solutions delivers websites that not only look great but
make sense to users.
In collaboration with Matt, Sean is the founder and developer of Sava
CMS, Blue River's popular open source content management system.
Matt Levine
Chief Technology Officer/Partner
With more than 10 years of experience in database management and web
application development, Matt is a seasoned programmer and application
architect. Matt's expertise lies in best-practice, object-oriented
programming, with certifications from Microsoft, Sun and Adobe.
Leading the technology team at Blue River, he blends a pragmatic
approach with robust, scalable frameworks to create top solutions for
Blue River clients.
Matt is also the architect of and lead developer for Blue River's Sava
application suite, which includes content management, e-mail
marketing, group collaboration and project management functionality.
Important: please respond to this thread to RSVP, as we need to submit
a list of parking exemptions to the Cal Poly Parking Department.
Also note that unless we hear otherwise from the university, we will
again be meeting in room 5-19 instead of 5-17 -- 5-19 is a lab with
workstations and much nicer seating arrangements, so this is a nice
"upgrade".

Next Thursday, April 8th, is the date of our next meeting, and the

management system

Yes, we will be broadcasting if all goes well with our connection and mic.
And yes, it runs on ColdFusion:
Ezra,
As of now, I will be able to attend. However, my wife comes from a trip on
that day and I don't know if I have to go pick her up during our session or
before or after. So tentatively I will be able to be there. If not, for
sure remotely.

@Cecil, Sava is a ColdFusion content management system (like Drupal
for PHP, for example). I will be posting the Connect URL before the
meeting, so as Luis said, barring any technical difficulties it will
be broadcast and recorded.
@Luis, OK, just give me a heads-up when you know more so I can handle
the pizza if necessary.
I'm looking forward to the presentation on Sava and plan on being there.
I'm assuming it will be on Thursday April 9th not on the 8th as stated in the email.

Well, that should teach me to look at a calendar before typing...
Yes, the meeting is indeed on Thursday the *9th* -- sorry for the
confusion, and thanks to Alvin for noticing my blunder.
I've had my head buried in my family's genealogical research so I might have misunderstood something. Is this the Inland Empire User Group meeting we are talking about for tomorrow evening? Sorry to seem a bit lost on this.

Well, so far I've got an "I'm coming" from Alvin, and a "maybe" from
Luis -- anyone else?
@Cecil, the Inland Empire CFUG meeting will be on Thursday night, not
tomorrow. (Although I do need to receive RSVPs today in order to add
people to the parking exemptions list.)
The post about a meeting tomorrow night was from Charlie Griefer, who
originally founded our group but has since moved to the Bay Area -- he
was announcing the initial meeting of the East Bay CFUG for folks that
might happen to be in his neck of the woods.

I am not sure right now, but I would probably watch it online. So, if we tell you in time, you can set us up for free parking, or how does that work? I had to pay last time. Would we have to give you a license plate number and car description?

No worries. Just to be clear, should I add you to the list of
attendees for Thursday?

Hmm, you *shouldn't* have had to pay last time, as I had added you to
the list for that meeting (I just double-checked). I'll go ahead and
put your name down for this month as well, in case you do decide to
come out.
As far as how the process works, I submit a list of names to the
parking department, and they add them to a so-called "gate list" for
that day (they just need a name, not a plate number or anything else).
When you come to the university, stop at the visitor booth/kiosk at
the entrance to lots C/D (see the meetings page on our site for
detailed directions), give them your name and they will issue you a
free parking permit.

I agree. I will talk to Luis about this at the meeting, but I am
starting to feel like we might want to discontinue using our current
site in favor of our (currently not really active) Adobe Groups site,
which includes an RSVP function.

Good to hear from you Carlos -- I have forwarded your name on to the
parking department, but it may be too late for them to add you to the
list, as the request was already approved...
