Is squish - Safe to use?

Dean Edwards warns that squish may lead to adverse effects.
Does anyone know what these are or could be and have you ever had to
avoid using squish for such a reason?

The squish module contains fixes that depend on an element having "layout".

When an element has "layout" it affects the other elements around it.
Often there is no effect on page layout but sometimes margins do no
collapse correctly and the page will look slightly different. For that
reason I isolated those particular fixes. You can try including the
squish module, if your page layout is altered then you know why. :-)
